A Happier Gamer

I recently treated myself to a new mouse pad and Teflon mouse feet. The mouse pad comes with two surfaces and a mouse cord clip. Plus it ships in an über-cool tin carrying case -- AKA chick magnet. Maybe I'll start packing my lunch in it to see if I can attract some attention at work.

Anyway, I wore out my old Ratpadz mouse pad, which was thicker and had a smaller surface area. My old mouse feet didn't last very long and seemed to collect a lot of dust and cat hair. Hopefully the new feet will do a little better, although I haven't ruled out killing the cats.

I think my wife is even more attracted to me now.

In other news:

Since the Quake 3 source was GPL'd, a group of developers has taken over the code. They are fixing bugs and making it compile on Windoze, Linux, and OSX. There is even a Gentoo emerge for it. I haven't tried it yet. I'm not sure it works with the CPMA mod.

  1. 1 question -- how do you wear out a mouse pad? Have you fragged so much that you've actually melted a hole through the plastic? Or perhaps it's just worn down, making the pad concave? Regardless, you'll have to post your thoughts on this new pad ... I'm intrigued. That purchase alone has to be worth 2 or 3 extra frags. Add another +1 frag for fresh, cat hair-free, mouse skates and we may be in trouble.

  3. I thought I might order a chestrest with my ideal breast size...but then I thought it might not have a enough surface area.

  4. grande: I play every day for 2-4 hours. I wore a flat spot into the plastic. I guess it's a little concave. I can post pictures if you'd like.

I'll definitely post my reviews on the new mouse pad. You're right -- a smooth movin' mouse makes all the difference.

  5. Could you wear that tin carrying case to bed tonight? Hubba hubba.

  6. Have you thought about wearing a white glove? Seriously. Do you really want palm sweat and dead skin and hair getting on your mouse pad?
A fresh glove every day would keep you pad nice and clean.

  7. If it doesn't fit, you must acquit.
